Look In The Mirror, Who Do You See?

Never would you experience looking in the mirror and the image reflecting back at you is someone else. Thus, why do we sometimes find ourselves comparing ourselves to others? Whether it’s the way we look or the size we want to have, comparing ourselves to others will never do any good.

Likewise, it has been proven that there are many body types, and these all show different responses to weight gain. Some store energy in a healthy way while in others, excess calories are deposited much earlier as fat. Knowing this, we should all look at ourselves to find the best way to fulfil our body’s greatest potential.

This is attained by watching our food intake, caring for our bodies and getting a relevant amount of sleep. Many think they can skip meals, and use energy drinks to give them the extra boost that they need. This may work however, should you suffer from heart trouble, the stimulants in energy drinks can lead to hypertension and blood clots. Optionally, increase your energy levels naturally with watermelon, low-fat dairy products and soy nuts. These are all good sources of energy.

Include pomegranate in your diet as its juice protects the liver and kidneys, support the skin from free radical damage, and reduces the risk of allergies. Make it your goal to get enough vitamin D from the sun, as a higher intake of vitamin D will protect your body against Crohn’s disease and insulin resistance.

Remember to treat yourself at the end of the day, maintaining a good coconut oil hair care regime, finishing off with a relaxing soak. Should you suffer from insomnia, you can try two slices of toast for supper. Toast releases tryptophan, which relaxes the body. Try to avoid things such as coffee, cigarettes and alcohol as these stimulate the body and will not benefit you.

Maintaining a healthy routine is not easy, hence to burn those extra calories, you can incorporate walking up some stairs at any time during the course of the day. Take one step at a time, and watch those calories burn.

All in all, remember we are all different and it’s up to you to find a healthy regime that works for you. Once done, you should be able to gain maximum results that will not only benefit you now, but long into the future.

Get Frizz Free Hair With a Moisturising Coconut Oil Hair Mask

Central heating and sun exposure can dry the hair and make it look frizzy. However, there is an easy way to reduce frizz by applying a moisturising coconut oil hair mask. Gather three tablespoons of coconut oil and place into a saucepan. Melt the oil under a low heat. Add one egg and stir until the ingredients have melted to a thicker consistency. Ensure that the mixture is warm and not hot, as you do not want to burn the scalp. Apply it to the tips of the hair and continue until the mixture has covered the entire hair area. Add a plastic bag, which will steam the hair slightly, and wash out after thirty minutes for shiny frizz-free locks.

Weight Or Wait What’s The Link

You’re probably feeling like the year started yesterday; you winked, and a week was gone. You’re also panicking because you have not yet started one of the promises or resolution you made for the new year. Don’t get discouraged cause you’re not alone. Due to work and family commitments, many do not have time for themselves. We are aware of this, that’s why we are making healthy living easy for you.

Now back to our question. Weight or wait? What’s that about? you may ask. We all know what weight is. It has to do with how heavy we are. Then what about wait? Well, to “wait” is to remain inactive or in a state of repose. That’s it; because we find ourselves constantly waiting or remaining inactive, the weight or heaviness of our bodies increase.

Now that you know, it’s time to knock off that weight and have everyone “waiting” on you.

This week we discussed maintaining a healthy weight during celebratory periods, and the tips given were tremendous. Number one rule, “don’t starve yourself”. We got great advice on simple meals we can eat that will keep the weight off. Don’t forget our miracle ingredient in our diet, coconut oil. It’s properties have been proven to work. By incorporating coconut oil into your day-to-day life, you will get that extra weight off.

Coconut oil also keeps you looking healthy. Wrinkles is something that most women and maybe some men worry about. Not many can achieve drinking the recommended intake of Approx two liters of water per day for plump and healthy looking skin. Should this be the case with you, all is not lost. Keep using coconut oil, and this will reduce if not stop the wrinkles.

How we care for our health today can decide how long we live. No one wants to die; but if we don’t stay productive and keep our mind and heart alert, we may just be shortening our lifespan. With a healthy diet we will not only ensure the longevity, but it will help ward of those unwanted illnesses that affect many.

Don’t forget to treat your hair and body. A lot of men complain of hair loss at an early stage in their lives. This is both uncomfortable and embarrassing. The use of coconut oil have proven to prevent hair loss; so guys, don’t wait till it’s too late, start using coconut oil now.

Use Coconut Oil On The Hair And Scalp To Prevent Hair Loss

The health benefits of coconut oil are so diverse. If you wonder why coconut extract is often used in hair conditioners, it is because of the nourishing benefits it has on the hair shaft. It will benefit your hair better if you use raw coconut oil on the hair and scalp. Research has shown that coconut oil is a beneficial oil that penetrates the hair shaft. This means that it will not leave a greasy sheen, plus it washes out of the hair easily. If you want to moisturize your hair throughout the day and leave hair smelling like you’ve just stepped off an island, the trick is to apply coconut oil sparingly, as a little goes a long way.

Not only does coconut oil prevent hair loss, but it also helps to strengthen the hair shaft. It treats dandruff, psoriasis, fungal infections, and it makes one of the best eye make-up removers that you will ever use. How do you actually know the precise ingredients are contained in eye make-up remover? Just because it is sold in shops does not mean that all of the ingredients are safe. Synthetic fragrance and parabens are two of the main ingredients in skin and hair products, and there is currently not enough research to conclude that these ingredients are safe to use on the hair, skin and nails long term. This is why natural products, like coconut oil, are the best ingredients to use on the hair, skin, and nails.

Because keratin makes up the hair shaft, coconut oil is also beneficial on the cuticles. It will strengthen the nails and prevent breakage. Coconut oil is the only oil that should be in your beauty cabinet. Once you gain the benefits of this nourishing oil, this is the oil you will not want to be without.

Why Coconut Oil Is The Only Product You Need To Buy

If you ever look at the ingredients label on skin and hair care products, you may notice that it contains coconut extract. This is because coconut is a very nourishing ingredient for hair, skin, and nails, and it is also a great weight loss aid and can be used instead of butter or margarine in muffins and cakes. The reason why coconut oil is not more talked about in the mainstream media is because it offers a wealth of benefits. Firstly, it will save you a ton of money, plus it is incredibly healthful for the internal body. Secondly, it is especially conditioning on the hair shaft and will leave dry hair looking full of shine, with a heavenly scent. Finally, when coconut oil is used on the skin it will leave the top layers of the skin feeling baby soft.

If you want to buy a jar of coconut oil that is versatile enough to cook with, buy virgin organic coconut oil. It is high in saturated fats, but it will not clog up the arteries and heart, unlike hydrogenated fats (found in cakes, pastries and biscuits), which are liquid fats that are re-hardened to make foods taste better. Best of all, the saturated fat is converted into energy, which can be immediately utilised by the body.

There are no negatives to using coconut oil on the hair, skin, nails, and internal body. It does not contain harmful parabens or synthetic fragrance, and one jar will last you months. Coconut oil is truly the only oil you need to keep in the home. A 500ml jar will keep for months, and it does not need to stay refrigerated either. Save hundreds of pounds on skin and hair care products by investing in a jar of coconut oil.

The Multiple Uses Of Coconut Oil For The Hair, Skin And Body

Coconut oil truly is a wonder oil, as it has so many uses. It can be applied to skin, hair, nails, and it is an ingredient that you can use to brush you teeth with. When it is used in baking, the saturated fat content will not clog the heart, which makes it a healthy ingredient to use in cooking.

Other uses for coconut oil include a make up remover, skin scrub, and a hair conditioner, while it soothes teeth and gums when used in oil pulling. Let’s not forget that coconut oil is excellent for scar reduction.

  1. Oil pulling: Oil swishing with coconut oil is a wonderful way to absorb its health benefits. Oil pulling collates all of the toxins and bacteria hidden in the mouth, which are then absorbed in the oil ready to be removed. However, it is important that you do not swallow the oil. Swish it around the teeth and gums for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the oil turns white.
  2. Cooking: Coconut oil contains saturated fat, but this fat is immediately converted into energy, rather than stored in the body to cause heart trouble.
  3. Toothpaste: Mix part coconut oil with baking soda for a toothpaste that will make your teeth sparkle.
  4. Blemishes and scars: Coconut oil is very cooling on the skin, which makes it an effective solution on any burns and scars.
  5. Make up remover: Apply coconut oil to the face and remove with a hot muslin cloth. It is gentle enough even to remove eye make up.
  6. Hair treatment: Many hair conditioners now contain coconut oil, as it is a wonderful nourishing oil, but it is good to use pure coconut oil. Apply it to hair at night and wash out in the morning for frizz free, shiny locks.
  7. Shaving: Coconut oil is an effective pre-shaving oil that will leave skin feeling smooth, plus it prevents ingrown hairs.
  8. Massage oil: Coconut oil is a fabulous massage oil, as it is also edible. Apply it over a partner’s skin before nibbling their hot spots.

The Coconut Is a Great Help Against Osteoporosis

The humble coconut is a truly nutritious food source. Not only does it support the immune system, but also it provides an array of amino acids, vitamins and minerals, including calcium, magnesium and potassium. Its wonderful health benefits have given the coconut the label “the tree of life.” All parts of a coconut are equally beneficial. The oil is great to use on dry skin and scars, and when used in cooking it leaves food tasting sweet. Coconut water contains beneficial electrolytes, and the coconut flesh is tasty and a good source of fibre.

Coconut oil goes much further than providing simple moisture. Its rich antioxidant content protects the skin from harmful free radical damage, which are known to age skin. Coconut oil is excellent to use before a shower, as the warm water will open the pores and allow the nutrients to be better absorbed by the skin.

Your hair deserves a luxury treatment, and coconut oil is inexpensive and leaves hair looking and smelling gorgeous. Apply it to the hair for several hours before washing out, or leave it on overnight for a deep moisturising treatment. There is no need to buy expensive leave in conditioners.

The high calcium content of coconuts makes the water, oil and meat an excellent preventative against osteoporosis. This fruit is especially beneficial for vegetarians and vegans.

Do not be afraid of the coconut because it is naturally high in saturated fat. Not all fats are the same, and the individuals who consume a large number of coconuts as part of their diet have not shown signs of cardiovascular disease. The fat is converted into energy, so there is no risk of it clogging up the arteries or the heart.

Use Coconut Oil As a Moisturising Hair Treatment

Coconut oil finds its way into shampoos, conditioners, cleansers and moisturisers, but it is far cheaper to buy a jar of cold pressed organic coconut oil, which can be used in cooking, to slather on the body after a bath or shower, to mix with sugar to make a deliciously scented body scrub, or applied to the hair as a moisturising treatment.

Coconut oil is light and great to apply to hair, while olive oil is heavier and harder to wash out. A moisturising treatment should leave hair looking smooth, sleek and soft. Coconut oil also has a natural scent that is free of synthetic fragrance. Hair will remain soft and shiny for days afterward.

Regular hair colouring can leave hair looking dry and dull, but coconut oil penetrates directly to the shaft leaving hair looking and feeling moisturised and silky. Leave it on the hair for several hours, or apply it generously and leave on overnight.

Avoid using expensive shampoos and conditioners that contain coconut oil. They are likely to contain synthetic perfume and harsh foaming agents like sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). Pure coconut oil is the best treatment for the hair, skin and body.
